Early Warning

Relaxed in the sun
Listening, Spring whispers surely
Summer is coming.

Mimbres Spring

Sunset and dawn
Hillsides are golden,
Light shines here like no other place.

The Answer Of Living
Desert Rain

In the after midnight rain
I live mostly
Blessed when a soul or two is company
With the moments to reflect
Seeing in the firelight
Winter is coming
As a storm outside rages
Pounding for a time to emphasize this message
And I search for whatever meaning
In a world fearful of love and war
Knowing the season of the heart
And where the sun shines
I chase the moon
To guide me through the night
Or else pray desperately
For forgiveness
Hiding away lost and alone
Feeling very far from the light of day
Until I find my way again
And begin to give back
All the goodness I've been given.

Saving The Tiger, P.S. Tibet

At the desert hotsprings a warm steady rain
Begins and continues unusually before dawn,
The gentle passion of the Earth and Sky
Like lovers between night and morning
Loudly applauded by crickets and birdsong
As a most gracious and auspicious time awaits
Then suddenly
A long and lingering downpour,
Water falling off the roof,
     down the road and paths,
Moist kisses and joyful tears upon the ground
When for so long little or none,
Now all that grows
May today magically and wonderfully
Come forth to life…

Alternatively Speaking

Long Shadows
Somewhere in New Mexico

In the long shadows of Summer's last morning
A gentle breeze through cottonwood
     and willow trees
Whispers hallelujah
For the season that has been
Changes that are coming
A journey that will begin,
As several leaves descend rhythmically earthward
Landing peacefully and soon forgotten…

Saving The Tiger P.S. Tibet

One sunny afternoon
Somewhere in New Mexico
Like a living impressionistic painting
Grass, weeds, and wildflowers swaying
Swiftly with trees and bushes
To the Westward wind's warm, sweet symphony
An encore for Nature's most favorite moments,
The season of Summer soon ending.

Chimes sounding in the wind
Striking like a clock
Marking the passage of time as children grow,
Letting the dead rest,
And life become tomorrow.
